(8) Villanova Stymies St. John’s

The game was close throughout the second half until Villanova went on a 10-1 run with 6:15 remaining, putting the Wildcats up 65-57. That run included to clutch 3-pointers from Pinkston and Ryan Arcidiacono.

“At the end they made enough plays and then some timely 3-point daggers,’ St. John’s coach Steve Lavin said. “They made enough to get the win because we came up empty on our end.”

Josh Hart scored 14 off the bench and Arcidiacono had 13 points for Villanova (15-1) in the win.

St. John’s (9-6) was outrebounded 48-39 in the loss.

Red Storm guard D’Angelo Harrison led all-scorers with 22 points.
