(REXBURG, ID) – Enrollment at BYU-Idaho is up for the winter semester. University officials say more than 15,600 are taking classes, amounting to an increase of about one percent over this time last year. Administrators expected that the number would go down as a result of the LDS Church lowering the age for missionary service. While that has impacted enrollment to a certain extent, most missionaries are opting for deferments, which will guarantee them the opportunity to register for classes when they return to school.
