The 6-foot-6 Behahan was dismissed from the Cardinals in late December. He has decided to transfer to Colorado State and finish his collegiate career under head coach Larry Eustachy, according to ESPN.

The school announced Monday that Behanan has enrolled in classes for the spring semester.

“I am extremely excited to have Chane enrolled at Colorado State,” Eustachy said in a statement. “It is a great fit for both of us. He is a tremendous kid, and I really enjoyed getting to know him during his brief visit to Fort Collins.”

Behahan was a key player last season when the Cardinals won the national title: He averaged 7.6 points and 6.3 rebounds in 12 games before being dismissed following Louisville’s loss to Kentucky in late December.

“I wanted to get my degree,” Behanan said on Monday. “I’m about 38 hours short. I also felt as though it was the right fit with Coach Eustachy.”

Behanan will be eligible to hit the ice in mid-December 2014 and have about two-thirds of a season left to play.
