Deron Williams Plans to Return Monday Against the Knicks
Published at(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) — The Brooklyn Nets are surging, having won six of their past seven games. It looks like they will be aided by the return of their best player as the team continues to turn its season around.
Point guard Deron Williams practiced with the team on Sunday and is planning to play in Monday’s game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
“That’s the plan,” Williams said.
Williams has missed the last five games since having cortisone shots and platelet-rich plasma injections in both of his ankles.
Head coach Jason Kidd said Williams will be a game-time decision, but all signs point to the three-time All-Star being on the court when the Nets take on their crosstown rivals.
Williams, 29, is averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 assists per game for Brooklyn, (16-22) but injuries have limited him to just 22 games this season.
