Sources tell People magazine, the Britain’s Got Talent winner saw a sign in the window advertising an opening for a cashier. The 16-hour-a-week job pays a minimum wage of $10 an hour.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes tells the magazine they were “shocked” when Boyle asked about the part-time gig, adding, “She once applied for a job with us before hitting the big time, so it’s good to see she’s still dreaming the dream of working for Ladbrokes.”

However, Boyle’s celebrity-status didn’t earn her any special treatment. She was reportedly told to apply online like all other applicants.

Local folks tell the magazine Boyle clearly doesn’t need the money and was probably looking for something that would give her a chance to be around people and fill her free time.

Boyle begins a concert tour of the U.K. in March.
