Driver Claims Seizure Caused Probation Office Crash

(POCATELLO, ID) – A Pocatello man who crashed through the state Probation and Parole office Sunday night says he suffered a seizure at the time of the crash. Forty-seven-year-old Brent Barfuss hasn’t been cited with anything in connection to the incident, and says he has epilepsy and didn’t have enough time to pull over when he felt the seizure coming on. Barfuss, who has three previous drunk driving convictions, was initially reported to have been driving under the influence, though police have since retracted that statement. Five people were hospitalized as a result of the accident, which remains under investigation.
