ESPN: Denver’s Chris Harris Tears ACL

Rob Carr/Getty Images(ENGLEWOOD, Colo.) --  Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the postseason, according to ESPN and media reports.

Harris left in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the San Diego Chargers with what was described as knee and ankle injuries.  An MRI on Monday morning revealed the torn ligament.

The Broncos have now lost two defensive starters to torn ACL's in the past month.  Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller tore his right ACL last month in a win over the Houston Texans.  Once the swelling in his knee subsides, Harris is expected to have surgery to repair his knee and will be sidelined from six to nine months.  He will not participate in the team's offseason programs and would likely miss at least some of training camp.

Harris made Denver's roster in 2011 as an undrafted free agent and has been one of their most consistent defensive backs since.  He is tied for the team lead this season with three interceptions.

The Broncos face the New England Patriots on Sunday in the AFC championship game.
