(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – A phone scam is targeting Idahoans receiving state assistance through food stamps.  Officials with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare say people are receiving recorded calls about the balance on their EBT cards. When recipients call the number back, they’re offered a $100 gift card to Walmart if they provide a credit or debit card number. State officials say they’d never make phone calls like that, and that anyone concerned about their balance should check it online and contact Health and Welfare immediately.
