(FORT HALL, ID) – A Fort Hall man has pleaded guilty to felony firearm charges. Thirty-three-year-old Arriyon Meeks-Ortiz was arrested by tribal police at his home during an altercation on May 15 of last year. When officers told Meeks-Ortiz to leave his home, they witnessed him tossing a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun into a bedroom. Federal law prohibits the purchase and possession of short-barrelled shotguns without an FBI background check and an ATF tax stamp. Meeks-Ortiz faces a prison term of up to 10 years and a $250,000 fine.
