Four US Servicemen Killed in UK Chopper Crash Named
Published at(WASHINGTON) — The four U.S. servicemen killed when their helicopter crashed in the U.K. Tuesday have been named.
Capt. Christopher S. Stover, Capt. Sean M. Ruane, Sgt. Dale E. Mathews and Sgt. Afton M. Ponce were serving with 48 Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath — part of USAFE (US Air Forces Europe).
Stover and Ruane were piloting the HH-60 helicopter during a low-level training mission Tuesday when the aircraft crashed in a wildlife reserve area known as the Salthouse Marshes on the northeast English coast. Mathews and Ponce were the special mission aviators.
