Grizzlies Stop the Thunder in Gasol’s Return
(MEMPHIS, Tenn.) -- Courtney Lee scored 24 points and Zach Randolph added 23 and 13 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies past the Oklahoma City Thunder 90-87 on Tuesday.
The game marked the return of Grizzlies center Marc Gasol who had missed 23 games due to a sprained MCL. Gasol played 24 minutes, scoring 12 points while grabbing four boards.
"It felt great," Randolph said to ESPN when talking about having Gasol back on the court. "To have big fella back especially, you know, to come down there and play with me, and bang in the point and just have that feeling with him back on the court. It's going to open up a lot for me and for other guys. We're just going to continue to play and play and get him back into game shape and rhythm. He's going to be full force soon."
The Grizzlies (18-19) offset a great night from Kevin Durant. The Thunder forward made 15 of 28 shots, scoring 37 points in the loss.
Oklahoma City (28-10) now sits two games behind the San Antonio Spurs for the best record in the Western Conference.
