Group Wants Minimum Wage Hike

(BOISE, ID) – A local political group is pushing for a minimum wage increase in the Gem State. Raise Idaho is enlisting the help of unions and other political action groups to get nearly 54,000 signatures for a ballot initiative this November. The measure would increase Idaho’s minimum wage from the federal level of $7.25 to $9.80 by 2017. The group needs about 48,000 more signatures by April 30. Opponents say it will only force businesses to drive up the costs of their products and services because of already thin profit margins.
