(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Homeless shelters and soup kitchens in Idaho Falls are busier than they’ve ever been. The Idaho Falls Rescue Mission served 30 percent more meals in 2013 than they did in 2012. At City of Refuge, some homeless men have had to sleep on the floor because there isn’t enough space with only 20 beds. Occupancy is also on the rise at the Haven, which serves single women and mothers. Officials with both shelters say they remain committed to doing everything they can to make sure basic necessities are provided for those who need them most.
