Islanders Win Seventh Straight Road Game, Knock Off Stars
Published at(DALLAS) — John Tavares scored the go-ahead goal with 1:24 remaining, as the New York Islanders doubled up the Dallas Stars 4-2 Sunday, New York’s seventh straight road win.
The Islanders (18-22-7, 43 pts) trailed 2-0 after one period, but Kyle Okposo scored one goal in the second and another in the third to tie the game.
Tavares scored on a one-timer from teammate Calvin de Hann, beating Stars goalie Dan Ellis’ on his high glove side.
Brock Nelson added an empty-netter for New York, which has now won four straight.
Meanwhile, the loss makes it six in a row for struggling Dallas (20-18-7, 47 pts).
