Lawmaker Wants Religious Protections for Professionals
Published at(BOISE, ID) – Idaho Republicans are pushing a bill that would provide religious protections for licensed professionals who decline service to people because of their sexual orientation. Rep. Lynn Luker of Boise says he’s launching a “pre-emptive strike” against LGBT activists and their allies. Luker believes that in the near future, gays and lesbians
will try to revoke the professional licenses of anyone who denies them service for religious reasons, which has happened in other states.
