(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Animal Control officers were at a home in Idaho Falls Tuesday only hours before a dogfight left a woman severely injured. The attack happened at a home on College Street. The dogs’ owner, 54-year-old Carlos Trevino, had a long history of run-ins with law enforcement regarding the dogs. Officials say Trevino had too many dogs and not enough space to care for them. On Tuesday, his roommate was attacked while trying to break up a fight between the dogs. Trevino also helped get the dogs back under control, and then died a short time later of natural causes. One of the dogs has been euthanized and six remain quarantined at the Idaho Falls Animal Shelter. An investigation is ongoing.
