(DALLAS) — Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been fined $100,000 for confronting officials on the court and directing inappropriate language toward them at the conclusion of the Mavs’ 129-127 loss Wednesday night to the Clippers, the NBA office announced on Saturday.
As NBA Commissioner David Stern’s final days approach, Cuban said it’s only right to go out with one more fine.
“I couldnt let the commish go without a proper farewell. Its been a fun 14 years of trying to create change and donating to the donut fund !” Cuban tweeted following the fine.
Stern is set to retire on Feb. 1 and Cuban also said he’d match the fine and donate it to a charity.
This marks the 20th time that Cuban has been fined by the league office in Stern’s 30-year tenure as Commissioner.
