Oregon’s De’Anthony Thomas Entering 2014 NFL Draft

Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — After a stellar career at Oregon, running back De’Anthony Thomas has decided to try his luck at the next level as he’s declared for the 2014 NFL Draft.
“I am officially withdrawing from the University of Oregon to pursue a professional career in the NFL,” Thomas said in a statement. “I want to express my deepest appreciation and thanks to the University and all of my teammates, coaches and fans. I look forward to staying connected to the University and visiting the sidelines as often as possible.”
During his three years at Oregon, Thomas established himselves as one of the best dual threats in the country. Despite playing in just nine games this season, Thomas still racked up 840 yards of total offense for the Ducks in 2013.
Thomas’ 5,345 total yards rank third in school history. He also holds the school record for kickoff return yards and punt return average.
Football wasn’t Thomas’ only sport at Oregon. He also anchored the Ducks’ 4×100-meter relay team.
