PMC Restricting Visitors With Flu Symptoms
(POCATELLO, ID) – Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello is enacting several restrictions for visitors due to a recent flu outbreak. Administrators say the hospital has treated nearly two dozen flu cases this month already, and with many other patients recovering from surgeries, the hospital can’t take the risk of harming any already weak immune systems. Until further notice, no one under the age of 18 can visit, and those visiting must be immediate family members who show no flu-like symptoms. Exceptions include family members of newborns or those near death. Similar restrictions have been enacted at PMC’s affiliate hospitals in Texas.
