Police Arrest NYC Man in Super Bowl Counterfeit Ticket Investigation
Published at(NEW YORK) — A New York City man has been arrested for allegedly trying to sell fake Super Bowl tickets. Thirty-two-year-old Damon Daniels of Queens, N.Y., was arrested for counterfeiting in an operation with the NFL, NYPD and Homeland Security investigations.
A search of his home, authorities told ABC News, turned up sophisticated equipment and technology to produce tickets with bar codes that would have passed entry scans.
Daniels is charged with possession with a forged instrument and trademark counterfeiting after authorities say he was found with 30 fake tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII along with fake tickets to the NHL game at Yankee Stadium and Billy Joel concerts.
His arrest was part of a broader crackdown on bogus goods at the Super Bowl.
