Police Concerned About Counterfeit Bills

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Counterfeit bills were recently used during transactions at the Grand Teton Mall. Idaho Falls Police say a couple in their 20s used three fake $100 bills to purchase $223 in clothing at Aeropostale. They also attempted to use fake bills for a purchase at Gymboree. Detectives say it’s easy to spot counterfeit bills if you know what you’re looking for. One of the most common methods is to hold the bill up to the light to see the watermark and the vertical security threat, which has been a standard for all bills over $2 since 2008.
