Police Dealing With Weapons at School

(POCATELLO, ID) – Pocatello Police have responded to three separate incidents this week involving kids bringing weapons to school. On Thursday, a 13-year-old student was caught with an Air Soft pistol in his backpack that looked nearly identical to the Glock sidearm carried by most officers. Administrators say the boy was carrying the gun to ward off bullies. The same day, a Century High School student was found with a stun gun, while another was found with pepper spray earlier this week. Detectives say many kids who bring weapons are afraid to address the issues they’re facing with school officials, noting that many of these problems can be prevented by better supervision at home.
