“This is a great win for us,” Thames said. “A lot of teams don’t come in here and get victories. I’m just blessed to be a part of this one.”

Skylar Spencer added 13 points, nine rebounds and six blocks to help the Aztecs (12-1) earn their 11th straight victory.

Kansas (9-4) had a chance to tie the game with 11.9 seconds left, but Perry Ellis missed his second free throw and San Diego State rebounded the ball, forcing Kansas to foul.

Andrew Wiggins and Frank Mason both scored 14 for Kansas in the loss.
