(SAN ANTONIO) — Kawhi Leonard scored 13 of his team-high 17 points in the second half, propelling the San Antonio Spurs past the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-86 Sunday.
The Spurs (29-8) have now won four straight and lead Portland and Oklahoma City by one game for the best record in the Western Conference.
San Antonio used a balanced attack to defeat the Timberwolves: Tim Duncan scored 15 points, Tony Parker had 14 points and 10 assists, and Matt Bonner added 14 points as well.
Minnesota (18-19) shot 36 percent from the field. Nikola Pekovic led all-scorers with 22 points in the loss.
The Spurs, who were playing without Manu Ginobili, Tiago Splitter, and Danny Green — who was lost to a sprained finger in the second quarter– shot 57 percent from the field in the win.
