(WASHINGTON) — Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals agreed on a one-year, $3.975 million deal on Friday to avoid arbitration, the club confirmed via its official Twitter account on Friday night.
Strasburg underwent surgery in October to remove bone chips in his elbow, and the team expects him to be ready for spring training.
The 25-year-old went 8-9 last season with a 3.00 ERA and struck out 191 in a career-high 183 innings.
