Syracuse Drops Miami (FL) 49-44 in ACC Opener
Published at(SYRACUSE, N.Y) — C.J. Fair poured in 15 points as No. 2 Syracuse rallied to defeat Miami 49-44 on Saturday in the program’s ACC opener.
The Orange (14-0, 1-0 ACC) entered the game as one of seven remaining unbeaten teams in Division I. They struggled early, but Fair and Jerami Grant made clutch baskets late in the second half to help hold off the Hurricanes.
Miami (8-6, 0-2) trailed at the half but opened up the second period on a 14-4 run. They led by five with 6:11 left before the Orange went on a 10-4 run to take back the lead for good. Garrius Adams led the Hurricanes with nine points and five rebounds.
