Seahawks’ WR Percy Harvin Ruled Out Against Niners
(RENTON, Wash.) -- Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin will not play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game due to lingering effect from a concussion he suffered against the Saints last weekend.
Harvin missed the first 10 games of the season before returning on Nov. 17 and aggravated his surgically repaired hip that sidelined him up until last week.
"He will not make it back for this game," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Friday. "He did not make it through the concussion protocol. I'm super disappointed for Percy. I know how much he wants to play."
Harvin was examined by doctors on Wednesday and was not cleared to return to practice.
If the Seahawks beat the 49ers on Sunday, Carroll said Harvin would be back at practice next week and able to play in the Super Bowl.
