Woman Arrested for Injury to a Child

(POCATELLO, ID) – Pocatello Police arrested a woman Tuesday morning on felony charges of injury to a child. Investigators say Melissa Lockhart called 911 and gave an incoherent report that her one-year-old child was bleeding. When officers arrived at Lockhart’s home, they found that the baby did in fact have a cut on their head. Lockhart, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was also taking prescription medications  at the time. The child was taken to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment, but is now in the custody of extended family members.
