Avalanche Kills Iowa Man
Published at(JACKSON, WY) – An avalanche took the life of an Iowa snowmobiler in western Wyoming Tuesday. Twenty-six-year-old Tyler Tourlett of Osage was killed when his snowmobile was swept into a tree in the mountains a few miles east of Moran. Emergency crews worked for about a half hour to revive Tourlett, but were unsuccessful. Avalanche danger is considerable for much of the region above 7,500. Nationwide, 16 people have been killed in avalanches in the past two months.
