Baylor Upsets (8) Oklahoma State, 76-70
Published at(STILLWATER, Okla.) — After a disappointing start to the season, the Baylor Bears picked up arguably their best win of the season after defeating eighth-ranked Oklahoma State 76-70 on Saturday.
It was just Baylor’s second win of the season against Big-12 opponents, and now sit at 14-7 on the season. It also ended their five-game losing streak.
Guard Brady Heslip scored a season-high 20 points in the win while forward Rico Gathers chipped in 14 points. Forward Cory Jefferson scored 11 points but pulled down 13 rebounds.
This is a tough loss for the Cowboys despite solid games from their starters.
Guard Markel Brown led Oklahoma State with 24 points. Point guard Marcus Smart shot just 3-14 from the floor, but did score 15 points to go along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Forward Le’Bryan Nash added 19 points in the loss as well.
With the loss, Oklahoma State now sits at sixth in the Big-12 with a 4-4 conference record.
