Blackfoot Planning for Drought

(BLACKFOOT, ID) – The city of Blackfoot is planning ahead for a potential drought this summer. Mayor Paul Loomis says the Department of Water Resources is cautioning community leaders around eastern Idaho that surface water irrigation in both urban and rural areas may have to be curtailed because there isn’t enough snowpack in the mountains. Preliminary actions include not filling Jensen’s Grove, and reducing irrigation at the golf course.
