(NEW YORK) — All week on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, host Cedric the Entertainer is asking contestants movie-themed trivia questions for the game show’s “Movie Week.” From early classic films to modern-day blockbusters, this week’s contestants will be put to the Tinseltown test.

“With the Oscars coming up this week, these are contestants who were tested to have a great deal of movie knowledge,” Cedric tells ABC News Radio.  “They’re considered to be movie buffs so all week long we’re asking all kinds of cool questions about the movies.”

The Soul Man star added that this week is so popular because America loves Hollywood. “We go out as an American society…every week, most of us, to catch a movie and see what’s going on in the world,” Cedric explains.  “And so we all kind of feel like we know which movie was what, who starred when, who’s the big co-star.  And I think it’s just one of those [themes] that people kind of recognize and a challenge that puts us all on this common ground.”

“Movie Week” coincides with the 86th Academy Awards, set to air on ABC March 2. Cedric tells ABC News Radio who he’s rooting for on Hollywood’s biggest night.

“Any time I’ve done a movie with somebody I feel this relationship. So I was actually in Talk to Me with Chiwetel Ejiofor. And I thought he did a great job in 12 Years a Slave,” Cedric revealed. “I know there’s going to be great competition. I also did a movie with George Clooney, so I know Gravity is up there as one of the top movies.”

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’s “Movie Week” continues until Feb. 28. Check local listings for times and channel.
