ESPN: Kirk Cousins is Open to a Trade
Published at(NEW YORK) — The NFL offseason hasn’t officially begun for everyone, but the Washington Redskins are already making headlines.
The team has made it clear that Robert Griffin III will be their starting quarterback moving forward, which doesn’t sit too well with backup Kirk Cousins. According to ESPN, Cousins is open to being traded to another team.
Cousins believes he is ready to be a starting quarterback and has already voiced this to the organization. He is not eligible to be traded until March 11, but quarterback-needy NFL teams will certainly be calling the Redskins to try and put together a deal.
During his first two NFL seasons with the Redskins, Cousins has appeared in eight games, starting four of them. He has passed for 1,320 yards and eight touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
