Ex-Mormon Accuses LDS Leader of Fraud

(SALT LAKE CITY, UT) – A disgruntled ex-Mormon from England is accusing LDS Church president Thomas S. Monson of fraud. Tom Phillips runs the website MormonThink and is a former stake president. Phillips accuses Monson of knowingly deceiving church members about doctrines and history in order to solicit tithing funds. Monson has been ordered to appear before a London magistrate next month to answer the charges. British legal scholars were puzzled that a judge even agreed to take up the case, while church officials described the allegations as “bizarre.”
