French Company Predicts Flying Car by 2015
Published at(PARIS) — When people remember The Jetsons, they mostly remember the flying cars that buzzed around their space-age home.
Now, the French company Vaylon says it’s embarked on a project to make the flying car a reality, far beyond what anyone might have imagined.
Speaking to French daily Le Figaro, Vaylon President Jerome Dauffy claims his Pegasus flying car will eventually fly up to 50 mph for as long as three hours at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet.
According to Dauffy, the combination dune buggy and ultralight aircraft would “move quickly on land or in the air, independently and in all circumstances.”
While still in the prototype stage, the plan is to get Pegasus, which was a mythological winged horse, on the market by 2015. But start saving now: The price tag is a sky-high $137,440.
