(BOISE, ID) – Gay rights activists returned to the Idaho Capitol Thursday. Nearly 30 protesters stood in silence outside Senate committee rooms, again preventing lawmakers from conducting their business. Organizers say that Idaho’s Republican-dominated legislature refuses to hold a hearing to discuss an amendment on the state Human Rights Act. The group believes lawmakers should follow initiatives in other states by extending protections against discrimination in housing and employment to members of the LGBT community.
