Idaho Falls Man Opposes Terrorism Enhancement

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – An Idaho Falls man accused of firing a semiautomatic rifle at the White House in 2011 doesn’t want a “terrorism enhancement” applied to his case.  The attorneys representing Oscar Ortega-Hernandez claim the additional charges are unconstitutional, in spite of their client recently accepting terrorism charges as part of a plea deal. The lawyers compared their client’s case to that of Joseph Reel, who only received three years in prison for deliberately crashing his Jeep into a Secret Service guard booth last June. Federal prosecutors say Ortega-Hernandez could spend more than 25 years in prison
