Jamie Anderson Wins Gold in Women’s Slopestyle Snowboarding

Cameron Spencer/Getty Images Sport (KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia) — Jamie Anderson soared her way to a gold medal in slopestyle snowboarding on Sunday in Russia.
Anderson previously expressed concern over the difficulty of the course during training, but posted a score of 95.25 on her second run to win the event.
The 23-year-old Anderson used a combination of athleticism and grace that really impressed the judges.
Enni Rukajarvi of Finland won the silver medal. Britain’s Jenny Jones took the bronze, giving the UK its first Olympic medal on snow.
It is the second gold medal for the United States. Sage Kotsenburg took the gold in the men’s slopestyle snowboarding on Saturday.
