At 46, Kimmel joked when he broke the news on The Ellen DeGeneres Show about how he’s going to be an older dad.

He told ABC News Radio’s David Blaustein that he is worried about being a father again after already raising a 20-year-old son and a 22-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

“I’m nervous about it,” Kimmel said. “I used to do morning radio and I’d get up at 3:30 a.m. before the kids even woke up, so I didn’t have that kind of staying up all night thing.”

Well, he’s going to have to deal with it now.

“It’s going to be a lot of extra work,” he admitted.

But Kimmel is excited about the new arrival and has experience bonding with young children, especially his daughter Katie.

“I did have the picking my daughter up, when she was a baby, from pre-school on the way home from doing my radio show and entertaining her for the next seven hours till her mother got home,” he added.

Kimmel added that he and his wife, a co-head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live, have no plans to find out the sex of the baby.
