(NEW YORK) — Joey Logano is eager to get this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup series season started off. Along with the rest of NASCAR, he’ll kick off his season Sunday at the Daytona 500.
“After last year and making the chase, gained some experience of being in the chase; I feel like we have a legit shot at winning this thing,” Logano told ABC Sports Radio on Friday. “I feel like my team can do it, I’m pumped up about it.”
During his six-year career, Logano has won three races, seven poles, and 60 top-ten finishes. The 23-year-old driver made his first Chase last season and finished eighth overall in 2013.
Logano will drive the No. 22 Ford this season again for Team Penske.
“Daytona is definitely a cool race track,” Logano said. “It’s our biggest race of the year.”
“It’s important for us. A lot goes into this thing, it’s a big race to win and we’re going to do everything we can go get into victory lane,” he continued.
