Kemba Walker Confident in Bobcats

Christian Petersen/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Charlotte Bobcats guard Kemba Walker has confidence in his team’s chances to make a run at a playoff spot in the East.
“I don’t see why we can’t make the playoffs,” Walker told the Charlotte Observer on Thursday. “I think we have a great team and are playing great basketball. As long as we keep it up, I think we can.”
Walker missed seven games thanks to a sprained ankle and returned Tuesday.
The Bobcats hold a two-game lead on the Pistons for the final spot in the East, and Walker believes the team has what it takes to get in as long as they don’t forget about the task at hand.
“We [need to] go out each night with the mindset we can make the playoffs. We practice like we can make the playoffs,” he continued.
The Bobcats are 22-28 in a weak Eastern Conference and Walker doesn’t see the team tanking to get another high draft pick.
“I don’t think we need any more [high] draft picks at this point,” Walker said. “I could never [tank]. I play this game to win, not to lose. If we are going to lose, we’ll make sure it’s not easy.”
