In an interview with NBA TV, set to air on Monday, James said he is confident that by the time he retires he will be among the game’s very best.

“I’m going to be one of the top four that’s ever played this game, for sure,” the Miami Heat star proclaimed when asked about who would be on his Mt. Rushmore of basketball. “And if they don’t want me to have one of those top four spots, they’d better find another spot on that mountain. Somebody’s gotta get bumped, but that’s not for me to decide. That’s for the architects.”

James did admit that he would not put himself on that mountain at the moment, instead giving the honor to four others. Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were the “easy three” to choose before ultimately settling on Oscar Robertson as the fourth.

A four-time league MVP, the 29-year-old boasts an impressive resume that already has consecutive championship rings, including both Finals MVP awards, as well as 10 All-Star selections. James has also been named to the All-Defensive team five times and is a seven-time All NBA First-Team selection.
