Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(INDIANAPOLIS) — Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine doesn’t see the Pro Football Talk report on Friday about the team trying to trade for San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh as a bad thing.

Pettine addressed the situation on Saturday at the NFL Combine as the rookie coach begins to look into the current 2014 draft prospects.

“I got a phone call saying that report was about to come out and I shot the messenger a little bit,” Pettine said.  “I asked how does that affect my tenor as the head coach.”

“It was something that in my next sentence, I think had the word, flying followed by something, or referenced a part of a rat’s body,” he continued.

Pettine said he won’t let the report get to him in any way shape or form.

“I think that’s noise,” Pettine said.  “I think that’s something that has no bearing on my job moving forward.  That’s a critical thing: a big part of being an NFL coach is dealing with noise.”

Pettine said the organization has every right to investigate every option it has as the franchise is looking to turn the corner.

“When you look at it, I think it shows the organization is committed to turning it around,” he said.  “I see that as a positive.”
