Jason Wise/MLB Photos via Getty Images(TEMPE, Ariz.) — At just 22 years old, outfielder Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels are in the middle of negotiations on a new contract that would make him among the game’s highest paid players. But neither he or the team will let the talks get to him.

“There’s no doubt that there are potential distractions there with what’s happening,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. “He hasn’t flinched. He’s very grounded. He has everything sorted out on his priorities. He just wants to play baseball, and he’s doing a great job at it.”

According to Yahoo! Sports, the Angels and Trout are in the midst of negotiating a six-year deal worth $150 million.

Since his first full big league season in 2012, Trout has been among Major League Baseball’s best players, finishing the past two seasons second in the voting for American League MVP.

Trout can do it all on the baseball diamond. He can hit for power, average, steal bases, and plays great defense.

In 2013, Trout hit .323 with 27 home runs, 97 RBIs, 33 stolen bases, and 109 runs scored.
