LAL Nash Steve? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1391579531143NBA via Los Angeles Lakers(MINNEAPOLIS) — The Los Angeles Lakers won’t see Kobe Bryant on the court for the remaining of the year. On Tuesday night, however, they did get one superstar guard back, as 40-year old Steve Nash returned. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, his return was not enough; the Lakers lost their seventh straight game, 109-99 at Minnesota.

Nash, who had not played since Nov. 10, recorded seven points and nine assists in 25 minutes of action. The two-time league MVP had been suffering from nerve damage in his back.

“I feel a bit selfish in that we lost but it felt great just to play in the NBA again,” Nash said afterwards. “Obviously the game didn’t go as we hoped, but for me personally that’s pretty cool to be back out there.”

As for the rest of his team, the Lakers could not find an answer for Kevin Love. The Timberwolves forward finished the game with 31 points and 17 rebounds as Minnesota improved to 24-24 on the season. Kevin Martin poured in a season-high 32 points for the Timberwolves in the win, while the Lakers were paced by 24 points from Nick Young.
