(NEW YORK) — The Texas Rangers have agreed to a minor league contract with pitcher Tommy Hanson, pending a physical, according to ESPN.com.
Hanson struggled last season with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and has posted a 4.76 ERA over the past two seasons.
The 27-year-old right-hander, who had 13 wins with the Atlanta Braves in 2012, is entering his fifth year in the league.
Hanson could fill the void in the back end of the rotation, with pitcher Derek Holland out until midseason after undergoing knee surgery.
