Redskins Quarterback Kirk Cousins Open to a Trade
Published at(NEW YORK) — Even though all eyes will be on Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III this offseason, backup quarterback Kirk Cousins says he is open to a trade.
Even though Griffin and Cousins were drafted the same year, Griffin was the second overall pick, while Cousins was the 102nd player selected.
Even though Griffin is the clear-cut starter in Washington, Cousins has shown he can play at a productive level at the NFL level.
“I’ve wanted the same thing all along,” Cousins said. “I was open to a trade from Day 1. I’m open to a trade now. After starting four games and having two years under my belt and two offseasons and having that experience, I do think I’m more prepared than I was coming out of the draft or after my first year.”
Cousins has appeared in eight games during his NFL career with the injuries to Griffin. He’s completed 56.2% of his passes, and has thrown eight touchdowns while tossing ten interceptions.
