Maxim Vylegzhanin and Ilia Chernousov took silver and bronze for Russia, respectively.

Norway figured to be a threat to the Russians in cross-country, but Martin Johnsrud Sundby finished fourth.

Russia began the day tied with Norway for the most gold medals with 11 and with a 29-27 lead over the United States in total medals.  Even though there are only three medal events on the final day of competition, Russia didn’t waste any time in sealing the deal.

Noah Hoffman of the United States finished 26th in the event.
