(BOISE, ID) – The Idaho Senate has approved a bill that would allow certain people to carry concealed firearms on the campuses of public colleges and universities. After passing a 25-10 vote on Tuesday, Sen. Curt McKenzie’s measure will now head to the House, where it’s expected to pass. Although opponents have characterized the NRA-backed
legislation as extreme, the bill is restricted to those who have the enhanced concealed carry permit. Carriers would have to be over the age of 21, take an eight-hour training course, pass an FBI background check,  and pay $170 in fees for the class and permit.
