Seth Meyers hosts his first episode of Late Night on Monday night at 12:35 a.m. Eastern time. He replaces Jimmy Fallon, who officially took over The Tonight Show last week.

Meyers isn’t too worried about living up to the legacies of his Late Night predecessors Fallon, Conan O’Brien and David Letterman.

“‘Weekend Update’ was a big thing to step into, SNL was a big thing to step into, and I think that I’ve found over the years that if you get too hung up on the legacy of what you’re taking over, it gets in the way a little bit of doing the work. So, our goal is just to try to do the funniest thing we can every night and get better each time out,” he told reporters earlier this year at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

Meyers’ first guests on Late Night will be his old “Weekend Update” co-anchor, Amy Poehler; Vice President Joe Biden; and musical duo A Great Big World. On Tuesday night, he’ll welcome rapper Kanye West.

Meyers’ house band, dubbed the “8G Band” after his show’s studio home at NBC’s New York headquarters, will be led by his former Saturday Night Live co-star, Fred Armisen.

Meyers left Saturday Night Live earlier this month, after spending more than a decade with the sketch-comedy program.
